Color Trends for 2022

The votes are in from top paint companies on which colors they are predicting to rule 2022...and this year, it looks like pale, earthy greens and blues are the clear winner. And I am SO here for it.

Keep reading to see the colors I am especially loving from the list:

My Favorite: Breezeway by Behr

Breezeway by Behr is a silvery green that can work with so many styles - from beachside vibes to modern, contemporary settings. It would look incredible alongside shades of white, gray and natural wood or driftwood tones. This color is so dreamy, and I am already trying to figure out which wall to repaint. It's cool, it's refreshing, it's calming, and it reminds me of sea glass collected during a beach walk.

Runner Up: HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams’

HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams' Aleutian is like your favorite pair of faded blue jeans...its timeless, comfortable and it works with almost anything. Ashley Banbury, senior color designer for HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams, explains the color “is a stunning shade that promotes balance in our home and mental wellbeing.” And couldn't we all use a little bit of that! I am loving this coloring the room above, paired with natural wood accents, plants and sunlight.

I am also Loving: Benjamin Moore October Mist

Benjamin Moore October Mist is a mid-tone green paint color that has a very organic and natural feeling. Its soft and earthy, and pairs so well with other rustic accents like wood, rattan and leather. Because its such a calm and relaxing color, it would work really well in a bedroom or office to provide calm and relaxation. It's a shade or two darker than the silvery green I choose for my work space (I used Shermin Williams Sea Salt), and I absolutely love it - its so soothing and inspiring.

And This One Too: Valspar Mountain River

Valspar's Mountain River is a rich, deep-blue that can bring a sense of calm and stability to any room. It fits somewhere between colonial blue and navy, and would look fabulous in any room or as an accent wall. I can already envision it somewhere in my home (or future beach home) paired with warm whites and natural wood tones.

And last but not least: Valspar Guilded Linen

OK, this may just look like an off white to the untrained eye....but I am really loving this warm white from Valspar. I reminds me of Shermin Williams Alabaster, which I have through the hallways in my home. It's a clean, soft, color that brights up any space. And it looks so chic paired with natural elements, like wood, wicker and greenery.

There are so many other fabulous new colors that have come out this year, but these ones caught my eye. I am loving the soft, clean, earthy tones, paired with natural wood and greenery. Luckily, I have a bathroom to redo this year, so I have an excuse to get some paint samples and start playing with them.
