A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US...

We are a family business, started in 2020 by a dad and daughter with a knack for making things, and an obsession with the beach. Pete is a woodworker by trade, and Kelly has always had artistic flair, and an eye for color & design. Although we've been making projects together since the 80's, it took an international move, retirement & global pandemic for us to (finally) set-up shop.

We started as a roadside stand, and have grown to selling at craft markets, online, and in a few physical locations. It's been a wild ride, but we wouldn't want it any other way.

We put a lot of love, sweat and laughs into each item we create. We hope you love our craft as much as we love making it for you.

  • What is coastal home decor?
It is a decorating style influenced by seaside elements and colors. The sand, driftwood, rope, shells, and the light reflecting off the water.... create a soothing ambiance. We incorporate these elements in a clean and simple way, to complement any home or style. No matter your location, we can help make your home feel like a relaxing beach retreat.
  • How and when did the business start?
We are a family that has always found peace and joy in being surrounded by saltwater and sand. We also love to create unique items by hand, and have been doing so for as long as I can remember. We always dreamed of setting up an etsy shop, but it wasnt until 2020 that we decided to start a business. With Pete's woodworking skills and Kelly's artistic eye, Ebb Tide Designs was born. Split between the Philadelphia area and South Jersey shore, we put a lot of love and careful attention into each item that we make. We hope our items bring you as much joy as we get from making them.

  • How do you make your products?
We use reclaimed wood and upcycled materials to create high quality, handmade items. Everything we do is hand crafted and hand painted. That means items can be adapted or customized to fit your unique style.
  • Where do you source your materials?
We try to recycle and collect as many materials as possible. That means beachcombing for shells, grabbing wood palettes from businesses, thrift shopping, using old fences, decks and walkways.... We are also really fortunate to have lots of family and friends that scout and collect materials for us as well. When we do need to buy mateirals, we try and buy as much as possible from local and/or small businesses.
  • How do you find your inspiration?
All of our items are inspired by the ocean...just like shells on the beach, each one is unique, and no two are alike. We love to create clean and simple designs to accentuate the natural beauty of the wood and shells we find along the coast.
  • What if I don't own a beach house?
While a beach house is nice, we believe that beach living is a state of mind! We design items with a coastal twist that can fit into any home or decor style. Our calming color palette and accents tend to work anywhere, and alongside all types of decor.
